Waiting Like a Kid on Christmas Morning
I’m sitting here, patiently awaiting the arrival of my new laptop like a kid on Christmas morning. If you’re also looking for a great laptop for blogging, check out this list of the best laptops for bloggers. It can help you find one that fits your needs. I want to start a blog journey. It’s time to stop writing blog posts in my email app on my phone…. Instead of continuing this habit, I should transition to a more structured approach. I should stop sending them to myself. Yes, that’s actually what I’ve been doing. (Go ahead, laugh—it’s fine.)
So, in a moment of total panic, I went all in. As a result, I bought a laptop, snagged my domain, and got all the “official blog stuff” squared away. Now, it’s just a matter of waiting for that laptop and figuring out how to actually build this blog. Starting a blog can be both thrilling and daunting. Yet, it’s a necessary step.
Exciting? Absolutely. Overwhelming? Oh, 100%. What do I even start with? What if no one reads it?
A Wake-Up Call from My Daughter
Cue my daughter, who texts me out of the blue after I ramble about one of my ideas. Her message?
“Mom, remember, you’re doing this to have fun and just write. It’s not a job. Don’t stress.”
Can we take a moment to appreciate how wise she is? Like, who’s the adult here? Seriously.
But of course, I hit her with the classic mom comeback. I said, “You have to work hard at everything you do. It doesn’t matter if it’s a job or a hobby.”
Still, her words stuck with me. Doing this and starting a blog, I need to let go of the pressure and just enjoy it.
Finding Joy in the Journey
Her text made me realize something even bigger: Shouldn’t we all love what we do? Whether it’s a job, a hobby, or something in between, it is crucial. That feeling of excitement—the kind that keeps you up at night with ideas—is so important.
You know that stress that’s somehow good stress? No? Just me?
It hit me hard: I don’t want to live a life where I’m working so hard that I’m miserable. I want to love what I’m doing. I want to feel excited again, like I’m creating something meaningful. Maybe that’s the sign. Maybe it’s time to turn the page and start a new chapter. A simpler, more intentional life. An intentional life, starting with a blog and its journey.
What’s Next in My Blog Journey?
So here I am, waiting for my laptop, thinking about what’s next. I don’t know exactly where this blog will go, but I do know one thing: It’s going to be mine. Real. Unfiltered. Fun. Because life’s too short to stress over the things that should bring you joy.
And if you’re out there, reading this, maybe this is your sign too. Maybe it’s time for starting a blog journey of your own.
What’s your next chapter?
