My New Laptop is Here! Let’s Start This Blogging Adventure!

A cozy workspace featuring an open laptop with a blank blog post draft, a steaming cup of coffee, a notebook with scribbled ideas, and warm string lights creating an inspiring atmosphere. The desk has a slightly messy yet inviting setup, symbolizing creativity, motivation, and the excitement of starting a blog

When was the last time you were eagerly awaiting something? That build-up of excitement where you can almost feel the possibilities? It’s like Christmas morning when you’re a kid—waiting for that moment when it all comes together. Honestly, Christmas still gives me butterflies, and I think I get more excited than my kids at this point.

And then… BAM. The excitement hits a brick wall. HOLY SHIT. What if this doesn’t work? What if I look like a total idiot? Negative thoughts flood in, and before I know it, I’m spiraling. But then I hear my daughter’s voice: “Have fun, it’s not a job.” And I pause.

Wait… what if this is more than just fun? What if it turns into something huge? And there it is—the rabbit hole.

How often do you go down that rabbit hole of self-doubt? If you’re saying, “HOLY SHIT, that’s me!”—you’re not alone. Time to hit the brakes and pause for a second.

Here’s what I’m learning: Pause. I take a deep breath, hit the brakes, and remind myself: Not today, Satan. Negative thoughts? Nope. Not today. Not gonna hold me back.

So, here we go. I’m diving headfirst into building my website. I’m also navigating all the things I need to learn. This is essential to get this blog off the ground. It’s exciting, sure—but let’s be honest, it’s terrifying, too. But I’m here for it. I love learning, and I know I can do this. If I can help businesses grow in my 9-to-5, then why the hell can’t I do the same for myself? I can. And that’s my mantra from now on—I can.

We always tell our kids, “You can do anything you want to do.” But do we really believe it for ourselves? Well, guess what? I’m here to tell you: YES, YOU CAN. No matter your age, no matter your situation. It takes effort, it takes learning something new, but you are capable. We all are.

After battling the self-doubt, here’s the next step: Turn on the laptop, get my logins, and set up my pages. Simple, right? But if it feels overwhelming, break it down. The hardest part is just starting.

Tips:

  1. Find something you love – Something that excites you. Something that lights you up. Find that thing and let it drive you.
  2. What’s your why? – My why is simple. I want to do something I love. I want something that doesn’t make my watch yell at me for being too stressed.
  3. Create a plan – Without a plan, you’re just wandering around in circles. Get clear on your steps and start mapping things out.
  4. Break it down into small goals – One big goal? That’s a mountain. Small, manageable steps? That’s how you get to the top.
  5. And then… DO IT. – Stop waiting for the “perfect moment.” Just start.

So, what’s stopping you? Seriously—what’s your excuse? Hit me with it—I want to hear it. We’re going to tackle it together. You’ve got this. So, what’s your first step going to be?
